We will travel parallel to the Panama Canal by the Transisthmian Railway. From Panama City to the Atlantic Side to Colon Province, once we get to Colon we will visit the two set of Locks in the Caribbean Side, Gatun Locks and Agua Clara Locks where you will see the Panama Canal from its best spot. At the Agua Clara Visitor Center of the Panama Canal Expansion, you would be able to appreciate this impressive infrastructure. The visitor center offers an impressive panoramic view of the area Panama Canal expansion in the Atlantic region, is an interactive way to understand all the development and construction of the Panama Canal expansion project.
Partial Transit through Miraflores and Pedro Miguel Locks, Observation of Canal Dredging Works, and Visit to Amador Marina

This tour gives you the opportunity to transit one set of Locks. Departing from Flamenco in Amador and goes right into the Miraflores Locks where is raised up to 54 feet in a two steps process. This activity is achieved by sending water from Pedro Miguel’s lake by gravity to fill the chambers where the ship is locked. Once the process is finished, get into Pedro Miguel’s Lake. Calling at Gamboa, you are then transferred to a bus to return to your hotel approximately at 16:00. The tour includes breakfast or sandwiches. Some Fridays a night transit is possible from Flamenco to Gamboa by boat returning by autobus to Flamenco. The trip begins early in the morning, departure from the Hotel main lobby will be at 7:00 a.m. (The final timing of this tour will be confirmed by the Panama Canal Authority a day before the activity)
Barro Colorado Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute Technical Tour

Enjoy this unique experience at the Barro Colorado Smithsonian Tropical Reasearch, this tour includes bus & boat transportation, a guided tour and lunch. The trip begins early in the morning, departs from Gamboa 7:15 a.m. and 06:00 a.m. from the hotel.
You will arrive at BCI 30 – 45 minutes after the boat departure. It is extremely important to be on time to catch the boat so you don´t miss the visit! Upon arrival, the guide will provide visitors information concerning the natural history of the island and lead the group on a hike through the forest. The hike takes between 2.5 and 3 hours. The trails are about 2 km long and may be quite steep in places. There will be rest stops to enjoy the sights and learn more about the natural history of the island.
Following the tour you can proceed to the dining hall for a cafeteria-style lunch (a vegetarian option is available). The boat to Gamboa departs from BCI AT 3:40 p.m. arriving in Gamboa around 3:15 p.m. and at the Hotel around 4:00 p.m.
